Senior Behavioral Scientist @ BetterUp
Scott Baker is a Senior Behavioral Scientist with BetterUp. Prior to joining BetterUp, Scott took a break from the corporate world to complete his PhD in Leadership and Organizational Behavior at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. Here, Scott’s research focused on understanding leader-team interactions, organizational resilience, team effectiveness, and how context affects leader behaviors. Before returning for his PhD, Scott accumulated over 14 years of human resource development experience across multiple companies: the Corporate Executive Board, the Trispective Group, and as a HR Director with Level 3 Communications. Scott’s efforts focused on delivering training, coaching, and organizational effectiveness solutions across multiple organizations, levels, and functions. This experience provided access to hundreds of organizations and the challenges they encounter as they strive to create value from their human capital. Scott also has significant experience as an educator. This has included teaching courses in Leadership Strategies at the Darden School of Business, Communication at the University of Utah, and providing instruction on leadership and team effectiveness to multiple corporate clients.
